Remembering Blue Peter's Advent Crown

So near to Christmas and on the 50th Anniversary of BBC's flagship Children's programme - who can fail to remember the abortive successive attempts by presenters to make the Christmas Advent Crown.

I'd like to say they made it look so easy - but no! It looked complicated and awkward and was a standing joke every year, but bless them we all loved to watch them make a hash of it.

And if you did manage to get it together and get the candles to stay in - what a perfect fire hazard it made...ahh those were the days...when you made Christmas decorations out of two coat hangers with tinsel wrapped round them.
